In the Netherlands, Liberation Day (Dutch: Bevrijdingsdag) is celebrated each year on May 5th to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. The 4th of May is "Dodenherdenking,"; Remembrance day for people who fought and died during World War II and in all wars after WWII.
With this campaign we put the focus on 'Vrijheid' (freedom). The second world war ended more than 70 years ago, but still today the people of the Netherlands profit from the freedom they live in. But freedom also comes with responsibilities. With this campaign we ask people to pass on freedom and help it stand for all generations to come.
