Geef Vrijheid Door — 2016
In the Netherlands, Liberation Day (Dutch: Bevrijdingsdag) is celebrated each year on May 5th to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. The 4th of May is “Dodenherdenking,”; Remembrance day for people who fought and died during World War II and in all wars after WWII.
The focus of this campaign is on (the meaning of ) ‘Vrijheid’ (freedom). The second world war ended more than 70 years ago, but still today the people of the Netherlands profit from the freedom they live in. But freedom also comes with responsibilities. This campaign invites people to pass on freedom and help it stand for all generations to come.
This new positioning and design was a starting point to create a bridge between all the hundreds of activities that are organised annually nationwide.
