Holiday in Decay
Personal — 2015-ongoing

It’s 12 o’ clock and 35 degrees celsius. The mild wind blows a smell of salty fries mixed with cheap sunscreen. The boulevard is covered with walkers and mobility scooters. People move slowly from left to right and vice versa. Average age: 70. Some are recovering from an operation others are on an eternal vacation. With all the necessary facilities and the perfect climate this place feels like heaven.

HOLIDAY IN DECAY is about the edges of paradise and is shot on several beach resorts on Tenerife, Canary Islands. If you peek around the corner you’ll start to see the cracks in the wall. These towns are located on what once was an uninhabited dry rock. 365 days of sunshine slowly destroys the buildings and surrounded vegetation as well as its inhabitants.

Holiday in Decay is a work in progress.
